Here’s how we bring your project to life

─── Step 1

Excavation

We prepare your deck’s foundation using steel helical piles instead of concrete. Installed 6 ft deep, they’re extremely stable. Helical piles work in all weather conditions, even wet or soft soil, for a dependable base.

Helical piles

Helical piles are the best foundations. Unlike concrete, they don’t crack, shift, or expand with changing weather. They’re quick to install and provide unmatched strength to support your deck for years to come.

Ledger board connection

The ledger board is the piece of wood that connects your deck to the house and supports the weight of the deck. This critical component is securely bolted to your home, and we ensure it’s properly sealed and watertight. Skipping this important step can lead to moisture damage and compromise the structure of your home.

Framing

Our frames are built to last. When you step onto your new deck, you’ll feel the solid foundation beneath you. We exceed building codes with precise spans and cantilevers, and install our frames 12” on center in most cases. Using 6×6 pressure-treated posts to support triple beams, the posts carry the load of our joists. As the final step to ensure durability, we install a waterproof membrane on top of the frame to avoid damage from the elements.

Stairs

Stairs are an essential feature of your deck, providing safe and easy access. They are also one of the most intricate parts of the build and require a serious level of precision and mastery. Our expert craftsmen create custom staircases using 2×12 lumber for the stringers and a 2×8 kick plate matched to the rise of each step. We carefully measure each step to eliminate tripping hazards. The process of building custom stairs takes time… but the end result is well worth it as it often becomes the focal point of your deck.

Decking

This is where we elevate your deck to a new level of luxury. Whether you choose pressure-treated wood, cedar, composite, or PVC decking, our skilled craftsmen will create a stunning outdoor space designed for relaxation and enjoyment.

  Decking is more than just laying boards on a frame – it’s about creating a seamless, polished aesthetic. We offer custom features like picture frame borders and transition boards to add depth and elevate the look of your deck.

Railings

Any deck over 24” from the ground requires a railing by Ontario’s building code. Whether you choose traditional wood railings or low-maintenance aluminum, we only use the highest-quality materials to ensure durability and safety.

Our railings are securely fastened to the structure of your deck, not just to the deck boards – for added strength. We pay close attention to detail, ensuring each spindle is evenly spaced to create a clean, continuous look. Not only are our railings safe and sturdy, but they also enhance the overall aesthetic of your deck.
